Firetha 4.0

Micki's Delirium

I finally got around to doing 20 doj runs on Firetha and planning a TR build for her. My idea is to do 2x wizard lives just 1-20 on her. As I will play my other toons as well, I don’t know how fast I will be able to TR, but this will be my first time actually meaning to do just 1-20 leveling. Only time I’ve previously TRd at 20 was when cap was still 20. I did one TR on Maidae back then.

Here is the draft for my wizard life/ lives

Haven’t Seen One of These in a While

Erdrique's Blog

Sometimes I go through dry spells where I won’t find or pull any worthwhile loot from the chests I find while questing.  I’m sure we all do.  But one thing my guildies and I were talking about relatively recently was the lack of tomes, any type of tomes, being pulled lately.  Well last week while I was taking Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) through Blockade Buster on elite, I came across this:

Hamllin coming across a +3 Upgrade Tome in Bash’s chest.

I wonder if my luck on finding some tomes is starting to get brighter.  I’ll guess we’ll see :).  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Micki the gamer

Micki's Delirium

Back in 1999 when I was active on Funplanet forums, I used to call myself “Micki the girl”, just because Micki is commonly a guy’s name. Now I am “the gamer” instead, lol. Not really, I don’t remember using thay nick before. Anyway, I asked Darth to snap a picture of me playing (I was running Defiler of the Just at the time). Here’s a couple of pics.

I am wearing a puple t-shirt in the pics, normally I’d wear gray or black. And I have a little bit more stuff on my table than I usually do (water bottle, beer can, coffee mug), but this is what it looks like when I’m playing 🙂 You can see Darth’s table in the right corner of the second picture.

That’s all folks.

EEraids 28

Micki's Delirium

Last week I was away on a cruise so EEraids were cancelled. This week I was back and I posted a bit before 8pm my time (2pm EST). I was prepared for a long wait, it has been taking a long while to fill these of late, so I was going to plan Firetha’s TR build while I wait… but I ended up talking with the first joiners instead. When we were 8, ppl started making their way to the raid and after an initial reset because of lag we were off. We got/ did archives and tower, and except for one late joiner getting lost and dying (and then releasing and leaving party), we didn’t have any issues to get to the end. In the end fight I had 3 ppl on death lords, I was on dragon as normally of late and I told Nurmaso to lead shadow…

Enhancements Alpha: Shintao Monk

The Order of Syncletica

In the first part, we looked at how Humans fare in the new enhancements tree alpha recently shown on Lammania.

Next, let’s look at how the Shintao Monk fares as a tree-based prestige.

The interesting and potentially useful advantage to the class tree system, overall, is that it provides a cafeteria-style selection. You aren’t limited to only abilities from one class tree. A Monk can pick enhancements from any three to form many diverse characters with interesting gameplay results.

However, there is something gravely off in the class trees. This doesn’t affect just Shintao but the class itself.

Monk Stances Changed to Auto-granted Feats

This is, to me, a terrible change. As I looked through the class trees, I realized that the various elemental stances (Adept, Master, Grandmaster) weren’t in any of the class trees, as they are in the live version. I found them, eventually, sitting in the…

What I found about challenges (part 1 – Island)

Tactalicious & Craftalicious

Soloing island quests are not easy. Be it regular or Epic. Partly because of the actual components of the challenge but also because of the dramatic increase in stats from minimum to max. Like how you can easily do it on lower levels with a competent build but struggle dramatically using the same tactics at level 20. It’s not just because they’re tougher and you have several abilities that might be past their prime – but mostly because the aids you have – such as hirelings and turrets are simply not effective.

However – the same lesson (with modification) can be used at level 4 all the way up to level 20.

Kobold Chaos is good through level 15. It’s your basic kill Kobolds for material, kill fishpeople hitting your extractors and eventually fire up a large extractor.

Soloing it I generally start at small extractor one drop the hirelings…

Wondering about the mephits in Co6

Erdrique's Blog

Earlier this week, another guildie (Lilbitblue) and I took on the terrors of Sorrowdusk Isle and the Cult of the Six.   I brought on Charlock, a dual wielding bastard sword fighter to help Lilbitblue.  One of things that kind of occurred to me when we were fighting our way through the Temple of the Six concerned the mephits, particularly those in the quest Quench the Flames.  The primary objective of Quench the Flames in the Cult of Six story arc is to destroy the summoning fires.

When we enter this portion of the story arc, we are told that he need to destroy the summoning circles that are being used to bring fire mephits from Fernia to Sorrowdusk Isle.  If we don’t hurry, the island will be overrun with these fiery…

Caveat emptor

Even Now

Just a short (for me) post right now, got a much longer one in the works. I’ve been sadly neglecting most of my toons except Jall, but more on that in the promised looooong post.

A few nights ago I was surfing the AH when trade channel chat caught my eye.

“wts pit restart guide pst w/offer”

Seriously? Someone is trying to SELL a Pit restart guide? The same guide that Vargus d’Deneith GIVES you just for taking the quest? The same guide that is NO help whatsoever in completing the quest (although it’s good for a laugh)? The same guide that has absolutely no real purpose and is worth NOTHING? The same guide that I’ve trashed DOZENS of times because I didn’t want it cluttering up my inventory space?

Yep. That same guide.

I don’t know if the guy sold it, or for how much if he did. But…
