Downloads for Xbox One X continue to be my worst enemy

Despite all of the preparations I made leading into the launch of the Xbox One X by making room for additional 4K content downloads and getting as much patched in advance as possible, I’m still caught in the tsunami of updates that flooded out on day one. It certainly didn’t help that some of my games that needed updating refused to work correctly and required a full reinstall.

Both Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider needed that reinstall and though I did have the discs for those games there was a lot of updates and DLC that also needed to come down – about 66Gb for Halo 5 and 45Gb for Tomb Raider. That and a 60+Gb update for Forza Motorsport 7 meant these games were taking up a large amount of my download time. Thankfully my Quantum Break update completed a couple of days ago…
