Game Consoles Left to Right – PS4 Pro, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch

Can you believe that the Xbox One and the PS4 dropped 4 years ago? That’s insane to me.  If it makes you feel any better, the PS3 dropped 12 years ago…no? Still feel old? Yeah, me too. But there’s no sense in looking at the past! The future of console gaming is just over the horizon, as we mark what probably is just over the halfway point of the current generation of console’s lifespan.  So let’s crunch down 10 things that need to be included and need to happen with the next generation of consoles!

Top of the Line Technology

MSI Gaming Intel Skylake B150 LGA 1151 DDR4 Motherboard

This reason feels like a given, as after all, it will be a NEW generation of game consoles.  However, the state of the gaming world…

Why Are Games So Depressing Lately?

Occasional Hero

The other day I was feeling kind of down–nothing major, just normal stressful life stuff–so I thought I’d jump on a few MMOs to escape reality for a bit. First I got on LotRO. I’m in Mordor and, well, it’s not exactly a cheery place, so that didn’t last long. So I logged off of that and thought I’d try Guild Wars 2. The character I’ve been running through the story on is just starting Orr… land of zombies, ruins, and undead dragon corruption. Not much better. The Elder Scrolls Online offered me a quest that involved a daughter murdering her father because he betrayed and murdered his son. Diablo III… well, everything’s depressing in Diablo, isn’t it?

I’m not looking for Rainbow Puppy Fun Times Online, but why does everything have to be so dark? There are even some games, like Secret World or Path of Exile, that I…

TheCanadianTechie

When I reviewed the Nintendo Switch last year, it showed great promise and was a lot of fun to use, even though there was a severe lack of games and was hard to get. Now, just over a year since the console launched and since my review went up, let’s take a look back at how the Switch holds up.

nintendo-switch-online-service

Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! Looks like there are updates on the Nintendo Switch’s Online Service. Looks like good news and bad news however you guys want to take it. There are pricing plans, a compatible games list, information about NES games being with the service, and save data cloud back ups. But I’m sure the piece of news fans aren’t happy about is that there are no plans for a virtual console. Let’s discuss this.

So let’s start with what we do know. It’s scheduled to come out in late September of this year. Let’s hope there are no pushbacks. It of course will have online play. Online play will be with games such as Arms, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Mario Tennis Aces just to name a few. What this means is to continue playing games such as these online you…

DDO: A raven at the door

Bio Break

I had a hunch that a setpiece as big as Castle Ravenloft wasn’t going to be used for a grand total of one mission in this expansion pack. Lo and behold, I’m back for another trip into this twisty-turny gothic castle as I answer the call to save the son of Ms. People Magazine Most Beautiful NPCs of 2018.

Oof. Some of these models do NOT look that good when you see them frozen like this. This is the sort of visuals I’d expect with EverQuest, but no matter.

Anyway, while the initial goal of this quest is to rescue some idiot who decided to kip inside the castle to try to steal some valuable from Strahd, the interesting twist is that you don’t actually have to rescue him at all. It’s an optional goal, and since the quest was long enough as it is, I decided to leave him…
