Time is a funny thing, isn’t it? A summer afternoon can pass like a moment, and the final minute before the end of a school or work day can feel like an eternity. Albert Einstein said it best:
It’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it?
Time travel, on the other hand, is not so much perspective as it is an attempt at bending reality in ways that are only imaginable. But the way video games show it, it’s just a matter of playing a song, turning over an hourglass, falling through a portal/having a cool time-traveling spaceship, or simply being that can move time forward and backward, speed it up, or even slow it down.*
Let’s take a look at some games and how they handle time travel, and explore whether they would be plausible in the real world.
