Facebook announces cloud gaming service for Android and the web

Facebook today announced its cloud gaming service for the desktop web and Android platforms.

To make it clear, Facebook cloud gaming is not a competitor to Microsoft’s Project xCloud or Google’s Stadia. Instead, Facebook is all about making mobile gamers enjoy games without downloading the game locally. If there is an advertisement for a mobile game on Facebook feed, user will be able to instantly try the game without downloading it. It reduces friction in the user experience.

Due to Apple App Store’s restrictions, this new Facebook cloud gaming service will not be available on iOS devices.
