Nintendo has been doing a great job with bringing fan favorites back on the Switch. Remasters like Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition bring older games to modern systems with enhanced visuals and quality of life improvements. Ports, like the games found in the Nintendo Switch Online library for NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, and Sega Genesis, bring nostalgic games to our fingertips, typically at reduced costs compared to the original. And then there are remakes, when an entire game is redone from the ground up, like The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
One Nintendo console seems to be lacking representation though. The GameCube falls in this weird gap between retro consoles that could be added to the NSO Library and remade or recent games that can be easily transferred over to the Switch with a few graphical updates and patches.
