I’m flailing around with trying to understand what the word “system” means in a role-playing game and the implications of it for game design.
Also, I’ve been flailing around for something to write about this week and here is what my demons decided that I had to write about. This is a bunch of incomplete thoughts that I’m trying to give shape to. Here we go.
Here is the definition of a system, according to Wikipedia
A system is a group of interacting or interrelated elements that act according to a set of rules to form a unified whole.[1] A system, surrounded and influenced by its environment, is described by its boundaries, structure and purpose and expressed in its functioning.
